Memories

The Music
"Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, theme for the movie "Stepmom" with Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts.

The Story
When I was staying with Robyn and her family during the last few months, we got this movie and Robyn, Kaley, Morgan and I watched it together. (All of us with big boxes of Kleenex.)

There is a great scene in the movie where the mom, who has been diagnosed with cancer, has this song on full blast and she's dancing around with her son.

Her daughter, who has been upset with her, comes in the room and they all end up singing with curling irons for microphones and dancing around the house.

Robyn loved this song and I put it on her computer for her and we'd play it all the time. One time when Kaley and Morgan were home, we started playing it and Robyn grabbed curling irons and thrust them into our hands and we all started singing and dancing to the tune.

It is one of my fondest memories.
